Patient case study: New Year, new smile!

It may only be January, but I’ve started plenty of smile transformation cases for patients who want straight teeth for summer.

Here’s a great example of recent cosmetic work completed for a patient this month. She’d never been happy with her upper and lower teeth – she felt they were crooked, jagged and uneven.

In cases like this, it’s not just about straightening the teeth and thinking the job is done. It’s only when teeth are in alignment, that you also spot areas where their shape – and often length – need further refinement to deliver the results the patient is looking for.

Following teeth whitening, I used composite bonding to create a more symmetrical smile, and filed the teeth in places so they were in proportion and had smoother edges.

As you’ll see from the before and after image below, this tailored treatment plan achieved a great result and lots of Instagram love!
